Plastic sheds must be installed on a flat, level foundation. There is typically no forgiveness in doors and joints, so a small bump or incline can throw your shed out quite a bit. If the shed isn’t installed properly, it can throw everything else out.Use WD40 or dish soap on the bottom of the walls over the piece that has to click in. It will make it much easier.Plastic heats up so if you leave it in the sun as you construct it, some parts might not fit due to their expansion. If left in the heat, the plastic will expand easily. If you are building the shed, leave the pieces in the shade until you need them. Once together, the shed will be strong and sturdy. The shed must be well fastened if you expect Windy conditions.5. A wooden shed brings a warm, natural aesthetic to the landscape. Wood is much more affordable than brick, and it offers easy customization, too. Add a window there, a door here –– your wooden shed can easily change with your needs.
Like many construction projects, the cost of shed construction is usually calculated by the square foot. Contractors calculate the labor costs and building materials needed, plus their business overhead and other factors such as travel, to determine the cost per square foot of the project. That figure is then multiplied by the square feet laid out in the shed plans to come up with the total cost.
Several storms have passed through and not a drop of rain has dripped inside. The inside of the shed smells like wood — there’s no mustiness or mold. And that’s a very good thing!
So, I was pretty much intent on buying a wood shed. But, just for good measure, I did check out metal sheds and plastic sheds, too: Unfortunately, metal sheds can rust — like my existing one did. And I didn’t want another rusty metal shed on my hands in a few years. I once owned a small plastic shed. It’s still standing after nearly 20 years (now in my sister and brother-in-law’s yard). It’s served both me and now my sister and her husband well — but they’re ready to replace it. The plastic shed’s paneling is beginning to warp, allowing water inside the shed.
Second, remember that your shed should rest on a gravel or concrete pad. While some people put their shed on concrete blocks, this is strongly discouraged as the blocks are difficult to level and can break or sink over time, causing doors and windows to bind. For your 10×20 shed foundation, you may be able to install a simple gravel pad and perimeter by yourself. A concrete pad is somewhat more difficult and will most likely require hiring a professional, although the final result should be a more solid and long-lasting foundation.

Unlike the DIY sheds you can purchase at home improvement stores, our sheds will stand up to the elements for years to come, protecting your belongings and giving you peace of mind.
